These days, our weekends go by way too fast, but only because they’re packed full with The Four Fs: Family, Friends, Football, and Food! And this past weekend was no exception. It’s going to be a task to get through this week with Fall break waiting for us on the other end; we’re looking forward to spending time in one of our favorite places with our favorite people. But in the meantime, we’ll find plenty of things to keep us smiling. Here are some of our Five Favorites from the last couple of weeks that have brightened our days. I hope they help make your week a little brighter and put a smile on your face!

We believe life is something to be celebrated, and we’re all about celebrating personal victories. The Greatest Kid On The Planet’s favorite victories are those that come on the football field. Unfortunately, not every game can be a win. But the way we see it, whether a game ends in a win or a loss, as long as he gave it his all, then it’s a victory. Over the last two weeks, he’s scored five super touchdowns for his team, and we’ve watched them over and over. We had a hard time picking a favorite, so we put them all together!  The Greatest Kid On The Planet Doing His Favorite Thing

We love staring at the moon and the stars and contemplating what’s out there in the universe. The Greatest Kid is studying Astronomy in school, and he recently shared with me an amazing video about the Hubble Telescope. Hubble was launched into space in 1990 and is still orbiting the earth today. Astronomers have made amazing discoveries about our universe from studying the images Hubble has captured. When you have a few moments, take a gander at this extraordinary video. It’s nothing short of mesmerizing.  The Hubble Telescope’s Amazing Discoveries

We regularly break out into song lyrics in our home, and it’s not uncommon for one song to lead to another. A couple weeks ago, The Greatest Kid picked up on The Lion Sleeps Tonight, and that little jingle resonated throughout our home for days. It wasn’t long before it turned into another delightful tune that we learned a couple of years ago. With vacation right around the corner, it’s still going strong with no end in sight. We’re fascinated by Mother Nature and the wonders that surround us. There is a river located deep in the heart of the Amazon Jungle in Central Peru known as “The Boiling River”. The water in the river is so hot that, in some places, it’s boiling. The river is considered by locals to be sacred, and the local shaman believe the water holds healing powers. In 2011, geoscientist, Andres Ruzo, was given permission to study the river and found the water to be as much as two hundred degrees Fahrenheit. The name of the river, Shanay Timpishka, means “boiled with the heat of the sun”.  Shanay Timpishka: The Boiling River

A couple of weeks ago, I shared a video of a magician named Shin Lim whom we’re fascinated by. Last week, Janet P. from Clarksville, Tennessee, sent us this clip of a magician who calls himself Smoothini. He is fabulous and loads of fun! I think you’ll enjoy this. Just don’t blink! Thank you, Janet, for sending this to us!  The Amazing Smoothini

If you have any favorite stories, pictures, or videos that you’d like to share, send them in! We’d love to see them!

Have a great week!
